Walking along the edges of the rice terraces in Batad, Philippines (360-degree video)
One of the things that I really wanted to do while in the Philippines was to go Banaue to see the world-famous rice terraces. However, once I got to Banaue, all the guides said that the rice terraces in Batad, a nearby village, were the ones to see and that we should skip Banaue. In Banaue, there were about a dozen travelers either traveling solo or in pairs and it didn’t take long for 7 of us to group up. We listened to the guides and decided that, never having been there, we should take their word for it. We then took a half-hour Jeepney ride to the drop-off point and began our trek to our guesthouse in Batad. I can’t compare Batad’s rice terraces to those elsewhere but they are apparently some of the best in the world. I’ll do a more comprehensive write-up in another post but in this post I just wanted to share this 360-degree video of me walking along the edges of the rice terraces in Batad.
